We are always on the move - but we never forget where we came from

After more than 40 years in the market, Tricon has experienced and survived everything from the potato cure in the 1980s, the IT bubble in the 2000s, the financial crisis in 2008 and most recently the corona crisis. Since its foundation in 1981, Tricon Electric has worked on the mantra that we will always adapt to the market and meet our customers' needs.

Tricon's focus on customised solutions and continuous development of skills and production facilities means that we have customer relationships that are almost as old as the company. We have thorough, professional knowledge of the field and experience with virtually every challenge. We look back on our history with pride, and we look to the future with great optimism.

Highlights from our history

1981:

Tricon Styre-og Reguleringsteknik was founded by the three friends and former colleagues Jørn Lund, Per Jørgensen and Per Knutzen in modest conditions in central Kolding.

1988

Tricon has become a well-established company with a good name in the industry. Tricon is growing rapidly and needs more space and better production facilities to keep up with demand. The company is therefore buying a site at Gejlhavegård - a forward-looking choice with the potential for expansion and good access conditions.

1995

Conditions have once again become too cramped, and the forward-looking purchase of a large site is paying off as the company needs to expand further. At the same time, Tricon is focusing on strengthening its software and programming skills, which again proves to be a forward-looking decision.

2000

Two of the company's three founders are leaving Tricon by mutual and peaceful agreement. One partner wants to retire, and the other partner has always had other dreams which he can now pursue thanks to Tricon's positive development. At this time, production facilities at Gejlhavegård have been expanded once again, additional space has been rented at Essen, and the company has about 160 employees in Kolding. Jørn Lund continues in the company and takes over all shares.

2003

Tricon is establishing its first foreign branch in Hungary. This is based on a wish to ensure Tricon's continued competitiveness in production and prices. The branch still has a strategically important function in preparing basic elements for further processing. This provies Tricon's customers with valuable flexibility in production and delivery times. The next generation, Kenneth Lund, son of Jørn Lund, has also joined the company.

2013

The production facilities at Gejlhavegård have probably become too cramped, and Tricon has decided to buy the property at Gejlhavegård 8.

2017

After Jørn Lund's passing in 2017, Tricon is sharpening its focus on competences within electrical control systems, electronics production, cable customisation and the increasing need for customer consultancy. In the following years, more peripheral business areas such as parts of software and programming services are separated from the rest to focus on Tricon's core business and competencies. Kenneth Lund takes over the role of CEO during this period.

2020

Tricon Techsoft divested Tricon group to separate ownership and relocates Gejlhavegård 1

Then, the development of electronics with the blackboard construction at Gejlhavegård 1 is collected to increase the interdisciplinary collaboration.

2021

Tricon is acquiring a state-of-the-art machine to automate cable customisation. This will also expand service to customers, and the department can also customise cables for Tricon's own production and assembly.

Today, Tricon is the preferred supplier of electrical control systems, electronics and electrical engineering consultancy to a wide range of national and international companies and industries. Especially in sectors and areas where life, uptime, engineering and safety are crucial, we are the preferred partner because of our reliability of delivery, quality and know-how. This is i.a. the case within mechanical engineering, offshore, pharmaceutical and food industries.
